Apple Trees

Apple trees are extremely hardy and grow well in our area. They tolerate our clay soils, winter conditions, and are the easiest of the fruit trees to grow. Apples do require cross pollination from another apple tree of a different variety, or a crabapple. Apples have different bloom times, early-season, mid-season, and late-season. Note that Mid-season apples will cross pollinate with early-season and late-season apples, early-season and late-season apples will not cross pollinate as readily as their bloom times are too far apart. Crabapples will also cross pollinate apple trees if they are blooming at the same time.
