Chokecherry
These Wyoming natives are hardy, and reliable. They are known for their clusters of tart, dark berries, and attractive spring flowers. It gorws well in full sun, prefers well-drained soil but are highly adpatable to various soil types, including sand or clay soils. They require moderate watering, especially during establishment, and dry periods, but are relatively drought tolerant once mature. Use the berries in jams, syrups and wines, if you can beat the birds to them!
