Plum trees are very easy to grow, and are adapted well for our Wyoming environment. They prefer full sun, and well-draining soils, and need consistent waterings especially during hot dry periods. Plums bloom in early spring with showy white flowers that attract bees and other pollinators to the yard. Plums require a pollinator with the exception of Mount Royal which is self fertile. The best pollinator is the toka plum, as it is the most floriferous.
